Hotspot // Mechelen // BEANS coffee, bagels & more

Hi there!

Last week, after my last exam, I went with a friend for some lunch. We went to Beans, a coffee bar were you also can breakfast & lunch. The shop has got an outside terrace, large counter and a cozy sitting area.

History
Beans is located on the Ijzerenleen, a square in Mechelen.  Behind the facade of the historic 16th century building called "In den Rooden Leeuw" (no. 37) has barista Sarah developed this trendy concept.

I'm really addicted to their fresh juices, in particular to the Mint Mix. It's a juice made with freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh mint and honey. So jummy!

For lunch we chose a wrap Indy Chick (smoked chicken, tandoori sauce & cheddar) and a bagel Chicken Farm (smoked chicken, tomato & basil dressing). Definitely recommended!

Besides the tasty, healthy things you will also find delicious sweets: cakes, cookies, muffins, cupcakes and brownies!

Hoi hoi!

Vorige week, na mijn laatste examen, ben ik gaan lunchen met een vriendin. We zijn dat gaan doen bij Beans, een koffie huis waar je ook kan ontbijten en lunchen. De winkel heeft een buiten terras, een grote toog en een gezellige zithoek.

Geschiedenis

Beans ligt op de Ijzerenleen, een plein in Mechelen. Achter de gevel van het historische 16-eeuwse pand genaamd "In den Rooden Leeuw" (nr 37) heeft barista Sarah dit trendy concept ontwikkeld.

Ik ben echt verslaafd aan hun verse sappen, in het bijzonder aan de Mint Mix. Het is een sap gemaakt met vers geperst appelsiensap, verse munt en honing. Zo lekker!

Voor lunch kozen we een wrap Indy Chick (gerookte kip, tomaat, sla & basilicumdressing) en een bagel Chicken Farm (gerookte kip, tandoorisaus, cheddar & sla). Zeker aan te raden!

Naast de lekkere, gezonde dingen vind je hier ook massa's sweets zoals o.a. taart, cookies, muffins, cupcakes & brownie's!

Hotspot // Mechelen // Le Pain Quotidien

Hi ! 

They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So you should eat in the morning as an emperor,  at noon as a king and in the evening as a beggar. Well, I do always the exact opposite of that and never really take my time to have a large breakfast. Only on holidays when I am at a hotel or B&B. 

So I went with my sister on a day trip trough the city where I study. We arrived very early (and by early I main 8 o' clock) and decided to have some breakfast. Our choice? Le Pain Quotidien! It is a bakery and also a breakfast & lunch bar. The products are biological and the furniture is made of recycled wood.

I really enjoyed the breakfast there. I have had an egg, biological bread, fresh juice and green tea. My sister had chosen some hot chocolate milk and pancakes with fruit.

Hotspot // Mechelen // Kaffee-ine

For all the true coffee lovers among us, I present you 'Kaffee-ine' ! 

Kaffee-ine is an espressobar located in the Onze Lieve Vrouwestraat in Mechelen. If you are in a hurry you can order a takeaway coffee,but upstairs you can also sit down in the lounge. There's so much choice, so I can't say which coffee is my favorite. Besides espressos, cappuccinos and lattes they also serve hot chocolate and tea. Definitely worth visiting !

Dear little students,

Our life is not always that easy, especially for us girlies. We LOVE to shop, but we haven't always the money for it... I found the perfect solution! There's a sweet little jewel shop in Mechelen, I'm talking about Simple Comme Bonjour. You can find earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, .... And the prices are very gently: 12 - 15 - 20 euro AND they are self made... so they are very unique!

I bought a self made pink flower brooch with a golden button and placed it on my bag. Perfect to pimp up my brown leather bag!
