Dutch Design Week

Hi there!

I went with my sister and mom to the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven (Netherlands) about two weeks ago. It's a kind of big city exposition. You can do specific tours (design, art, ...) in the city at different places.

At one of the places where we've been was the "Chair" exposition of Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek. All the chairs he had made during his carrier time were lined up. I photographed ten chairs wich I think are the most interesting and beautiful of all the chairs he has made. You can see that most of the chairs are made of wood/waste wood.

Hoi hoi!

Samen met mijn zus en mama ben ik ongeveer twee weken geleden naar de Dutch Design Week geweest in Eindhoven (Nederland). Het is één grote expositie verspreid over heer Eindhoven: kunst, architectuur, .... etc.

Eén van de plaatsen waar we geweest waren stond de "Stoelen" expositie van de Nederlandse ontwerper Piet Hein Eek. Al de stoelen dat hij gemaakt had tot nu toe stonden netjes op gelijnd. De volgens mij tien interessantste en mooiste stoelen heb ik gefotografeerd. Je kan zien dat hij vooral veel hout gebruikt en in het specifieke afvalhout.

Interior // My home office

Hi there

During the vacation, I worked hard in my bedroom and dressing. I decided to change my dressing into a home office. That's because I really needed the SPACE for all my school/diy stuff and to be creative!

I started to clean out the dressing, OH MY GOD, not a easy job! I think that I've given away more then 1/2 of my clothes. There were so many things that I didn't wear or that was to small or just not pretty anymore. After that I started painting the walls and the ceiling white. I wanted to be fresh, open and light. The same story for my furniture. I've painted everthing that you see on these pictures that is white.  Really big job, really BIG.

But the end result is pretty nice, don't you think? I'm so happy with my new (selfmade!) home office! So you can see, it's not hard & expensive to change your interior, just by adding some fresh colors gives a great result!

Interior design // Ombre fever

Hi there!

So the latest trend in almost ALL the branches (interior, beauty, fashion, art, ... etc) is OMBRE. And normally I am not a really up to date trend following person but this trend is just... WOW. I love it, with all my heart. I think it's refreshing, young and makes you happy! So I spend a day looking at pictures on the internet with this trend. And I would be selfish if I didn't share it with you guys!

So, what do you think? Love it or hate it?

Say what? Ombre?
Ombre is a style of color on a object. There is one color, for example pink: it starts with dark pink and get's lighter and lighter or it starts with light pink and gets darker and darker. Usually is the color on the background white (T-shirts, curtains, ...) You can use this type of coloring on almost everything: hair, nails, clothes, accessories, furniture, ... It's very DIY (do it yourself).

Today, I was watching the news and discovered this really cool design brand: BuzziSpace.

BuzziSpace is a Belgian design brand that has won the Henry van de Velde Award 2011 for most innovative company. Inventor and inspirer of BuzziSpace, Steve Symons, founded the company four years ago.

BuzzeSpace is the market leader when it comes to sound-absorbing design products that are environmentally-sound for both the office and home market. They have showrooms in Antwerp, Chicago, London, Rotterdam, Cologne and Sydney! The Antwerp-based brand has shifted into a global market player.

This Belgian brand shows that to this day, INNOVATION is still the KEY element for worldwide success. The colors and the material they use are really refreshing and ecological. I visited their website, they have such beautiful designs. I am definitely going to plan a visit to their showroom in Antwerp!

Dream House

Hello there,

Lately I follow a lot of design blogs. (I think it now even can be called an addiction)
When I saw all the pictures of those gorgeous houses I began to imagine what my dream house would look like. White walls, open spaces, clean but also a lot of colorful decoration.
Here some pictures to give you guys an idea of what I mean.
