Hi there!

Today I've chosen for a statement outfit to study in the library. I've got the T-shirt from the ecodesign store Supergoods at Mechelen (Belgium). It's from the eco clothing brand L'Herbe Rouge. On the T-shirt is written "Une autre mode est possible" (Another fashion is possible). It makes a statement and proves that eco/fair fashion doesn't has to be dull and boring! 

The materials selected by L'Herbe Rouge are the most environmentally friendly, only class A and B (organic linen, recycled yarns, organic hemp, tencel, organic cotton, organic wool and organic silk.) 

The T-shirt I'm wearing is made of organic cotton (70%) and linen (30%). It's without pesticides and according to a mode of production which strongly protects man and nature. 

So, I try more and more to watch out of what I buy. Especially on clothes. Nowadays, you can already buy a stylisch new outfit for only 15 euros! But where do these stuff come from? Who created it, in what circumstances and how much (or how little did they get payed for it?)

Finally, we have a REAL summer in Belgium! Sun, blue sky, cocktails, happy people and pretty dresses. I've missed it so much! 

This long summer dress is comfy but still pretty and I think it matches great with my hair.

My outfit // Little miss sunshine

Sweet little strangers, 

As you can see, I'm not in sad little rainy Belgium anymore! I'm spending my holidays in France for a week. 

Yesterday we went to the seaside, it was warm but very windy (watch the hair on the pictures and you will see). 

So I kept my outfit light but still with happy elements. The pink scarf is a gift from my grandmother. She has a closet full of old scarfs, it's like a second hand shop but better! I found the sunglasses in an old and dusty thrift shop. I payed almost nothing for it and apparently it's a very fancy, expensive piece from an optical boutique in Paris. Lucky me ! The jeans jacket is actually from when I was young (10 years old). Then I almost drowned in it but now it fits perfectly! And of course you all know the "I'm still saving for my birkin bag" bag from the shop Lily (Mechelen), I'm wearing it almost on every outfit! Yes, I'm addicted to the bag!

So, I'm going for a walk in the beautiful nature of France, have a nice day!

Hi there,

Last weekend I went to the Belgium coast together with some friends to celebrate the holiday. It wasn't very warm but the wind was actually very refreshing. I needed that, after a heavy school year. Also, I don't know if you noticed but I colored my hair blond. "Why blond?" ask alot of people. Well, the answer is: change, live, take risks! I always wondered how it would be to be blond. Now I know, blonds have more fun!

My outfit of that weekend was very colorful but yet city proof. I wanted to make a happy outfit. What do you think of the combo?

A few weeks ago, a student of photography asked me if I wanted to contribute with her street style project. This project is not just outfit photos taken with a digital camera like everybody does. She goes old school style with an analog camera. And now these days I am totally addicted to analog photos, so of course I sad yes!

Backstage the photoshoot.

Hoi hoi !

Een paar weken geleden vroeg een studente fotografie aan me of ik wilde mee werken aan een "street style" project van haar. Dit project is zijn niet zomaar digitale foto's zoals alle andere outfit foto's. Ze gaat de "old school" weg op en maakt de foto's met een analoog camera. En moet het nu lukken dat ik de laatste maanden echt verslaafd ben aan analoge foto's. Ik vind ze zo puur. Dus natuurlijk zei ik ja !  

Heb ik je nieuwsgierig gemaakt en wil je graag meer zien van haar werk? Twijfel dan niet langer meer en bezoek haar online  foto album en ontdek alle verschillende "street styles" die zij al gefotografeerd heeft!

My outfit // Casual love

Hi there!

Now that the snow and the cold is gone here in Belgium it's time for a normal, casual look. The grey sweater is one of my favorite sweaters of all time. It's actually not that special and sometimes when I wear it I really look like a big bag or something. But today, I got up really late and had to be dressed in 10 minutes. Because I had to go to the dentist (I don't like dentists). When I got back, I looked in the mirror and found out that my look actually wasn't that bad for just picking it out with my eyes closed and my sister screaming in the hall we had to go.

Hoi hoi!

Nu dat de sneeuw en de koude weg is hier in België is het tijd voor een normale, casual look. De grijze trui is één van mijn favoriete truien allertijden. Het is eigenlijk niet zo speciaal en soms wanneer ik het draag lijk ik echt op een overgrote vuilniszak of zoiets dergelijks. Maar vandaag moest ik vroeg opstaan om naar de tandarts te gaan (ik houd niet zo van tandartsen). Wanneer ik er van terug kwam en in de spiegel kijk merkte ik op dat mijn look nog niet zo slecht was, ook al heb ik die moeten uitkiezen met mijn ogen toe en mijn zus die aan het schreeuwen was in de hal dat we moesten vertrekken.

Hi there!

Last week I went with a friend (also a Charlotte)to Antwerp. We visited the Fashion Museum (MoMU). There's an exposition of Madame Grès, the Parisian couturier (1903 - 1993). I will write about her & her exposition in the next post. 

After our museum visit, we went for a sushi lunch at Sushi shop. A Sushi restaurant near by the Fashion Museum in Antwerp. Oh, that was just heaven on a plate! 

And of course, we went walking around to find a place to make some outfit photos. Like we always do when we're hanging out. We made the pictures inside a shopping mall in the main shopping street of Antwerp. Because it was wet and dark outside. There was a BIG cozy Christmas tree in the mall, so we thought it would be funny to take our pictures there. Because, who doesn't love Christmas? 

We end our day with, of course, a hot cup of Starbucks. With a snowman on our cup! To get in the Christmas atmosphere. And it worked!

Hoi hoi!

Vorige week ben ik met een vriendin (ook een Charlotte) naar Antwerpen gegaan. Om het Mode Museum (MoMu) te bezoeken. Daar loopt nu een expositie van Madame Grès, de Parijse couturier (1903 - 1993). Ik zal in de volgende post meer over haar & haar expositie vertellen.

Na ons bezoek aan het museum zijn we sushi gaan eten als lunch bij Sushi shop. Een Sushi restaurant dicht bij het Mode Museum in Antwerpen. Oh, dat was echt hemel op een bord! 

En natuurlijk, hebben we wat rondgewandeld om een leuke plek te zoeken voor outfit foto's. Zoals we altijd doen als we samen op stap zijn. We hebben uiteindelijk de foto's binnenin de stadsfeestzaal gemaakt, aan de Meir. Omdat het buiten nat en donker was. Er was een GROTE gezellige Kerstboom aanwezig in de stadsfeestzaal, dus dachten we dat het wel leuk zou zijn om daar onze foto's te maken. Want zeg nu zelf, wie houdt er nu niet van Kerstmis? 

We eindigden onze dag met, natuurlijk, een kop hete Starbucks. Met een sneeuwman op onze kop! Om helemaal in de sfeer van Kerstmis te komen. En het werkte!

My outfit // Warmly wrapped like a Parisienne

Hi there

It's official, it's WINTERTIME here in Belgium. Yesterday it started snowing, all day long. But in the big cities the snow quickly turns into dirty stuff. But not on the countryside. As you are reading this, I'm writing and studying with a view over our garden & forests covered with virgin white snow AND the sun is shining! So I just had to have an outfit photo in this picture perfect!

The coat I'm wearing is actually one of my mom's. I think it's twenty years old or something, but I just l o v e it! It's a little bit long and a little bit oversized... but that's why I like it so much I think. The imperfection of it. I like it when things aren't perfect but still very pretty. It makes it so real, just like people.

 My mom doesn't like this outfit, she said that I looked like a homeless person or something. But my sister doesn't share this opinion, thank GOD. What do you think of this outfit? And what do you wear with this weather?

Hoi hoi

Het is officieel, het is WINTERTIJD hier in België. Gisteren is het beginnen te sneeuwen, heel de dag lang. Maar in de grote steden verandert de sneeuw snel om tot een vies goedje. Maar niet op het platteland. Terwijl jullie dit aan het lezen zijn, ben ik aan het schrijven en leren voor school met een uitzicht op onze tuin en bossen die bedekt zijn met maagdelijk wit sneeuw EN de zon is aan het schijnen! Dus moest ik gewoon een outfit foto hebben in dit prachtig landschap!

De jas die ik draag is eigenlijk van mijn moeder. Ik denk dat die wel zeker twintig jaar oud is of zo, maar ik  h o u  er echt van! Het is een beetje lang en een beetje te groot... maar daarom juist vind ik het zo leuk denk ik! De imperfectie die het heeft. Ik hou ervan als dingen niet perfect zijn maar nog steeds mooi. Het maakt het allemaal zo echt, juist zoals mensen.

Mijn moeder vindt deze outfit maar niks, ze zei dat ik op een zwerver leek. Maar gelukkig deelt mijn zus deze mening niet, yes! Maar wat vinden jullie eigenlijk van deze look? En wat dragen jullie zoal bij dit weer?

Hi there!

The weather is so grey, wet and just depressing that I needed a boost, a BIG boost. So you can ask yourself the question: What makes women go to their happy place again when they're down? SHOE-SHOPPING! Because shoes always fit! Even when you gain weight or lost some. Buying shoes is always a good idea.

So I went to the Sacha store in Turnhout. I like this store a lot because they have such great & creative shoes for affordable prices. When I saw the studded loafers, I was immediately in love! For months and months was I looking for the perfect loafers. . . really hard to find. But now they're mine!

Foto's zijn genomen door mijn zus. 

Hoi hoi!

Het weer is zo grijs, nat en gewoon koud dat ik wel een opkikker kon gebruiken. Dus je kan jezelf de vraag stellen: Wat maakt vrouwen terug gelukkig wanneer ze niet zo gelukkig zijn? Schoenen! Omdat schoenen altijd passen. Zelfs wanneer je wat kilo's bent bijgekomen of zelfs bent afgevallen. Schoenen kopen is altijd een goed idee.

Dus ben ik naar de Sacha schoenenwinkel in Turnhout gegaan. Ik vind dit een zalige winkel omdat zo geweldige & creatieve schoenen hebben aan betaalbare prijzen. Toen ik de studded loafers spotte, was ik meteen verliefd! Al maanden en maanden was ik opzoek naar de perfecte loafers. . . heel moeilijk te vinden dus. Maar nu zijn ze van mij!

My outfit // Denim all the way

Hi there!

So it's getting pretty cold here in tiny little Belgium land. Time for my cozy coat! For me, it's always hard to find an outfit on colds days. Because outside is it really really cold but when you go in to a home or classroom, it's almost always really warm. My coat is the perfect solution for that! I just can were a T-shirt or blouse inside and when I go outside I just put on my wooly coat! 

Today I went for a "al in" jeans outfit. I really LOVE jeans. It's a such a cool thing. I wear this skinny jeans at least two times a week. The necklace is a new addition since last week. I got it by Lily. And ofcourse you all know my Theit Bossi Bag by Pilgerbags. I always carry it with me. No other bag could replace it. Accept for a Chanel-one, anybody feel like to give me a present? 

Last but not least, the Arizona Tea... Oh. My. God. ADDICTED. It's a product from America. I already know it for a couple of years but since last year it's getting really popular in Belgium. 

I drink one bottle a day, EVERY DAY. It's sooo good. And I think the bottles are really pretty too. So I never trow them away. I wash them and put flowers or candles in them.
